Yaiba: Samurai Legend (真・侍伝YAIBA, Shin Samurai-den Yaiba) is a 2025 anime based on the manga series by Gōshō Aoyama and an anime remake of the 1993 anime series. Unlike the 1993 anime adaptation which only adapted the first 16 volumes of the original manga, the anime remake will adapt all 24 volumes of the original manga with some changes to the story.

The anime series was announced in Weekly Shonen Sunday on May 8, 2024. It was animated by Wit Studio, directed by Takahiro Hasui, series compositon by Touko Machida, music composed by both Yutaka Yamada & Yoshiaki Dewa, and it premiered in Japan on April 5, 2025.

Viz Media licensed the anime series, while Bang Zoom! Studios produced an English Dub, which is scheduled to premiere on Netflix's streaming service in 2 parts on August 15th, 2025 and November 21st, 2025 .

Synopsis Yaiba Kurogane has spent his days training in the jungle in order to attain his goal of becoming a real samurai. By a twist of fate, he returns to Japan and starts living with the Mine family, who are connected to his father, Kenjuro. Yaiba constantly baffles the Mines’ daughter Sayaka as she witnesses his wild and reckless ways. One day, Yaiba tags along with Sayaka to school and has a fateful encounter with Takeshi Onimaru, a kendo expert. Yaiba and Onimaru repeatedly clash, and as if in response to their search for strength, two ancient powers are unleashed: the Fujinken,the Wind God’s Sword, and the Raijinken, the Thunder God’s Sword. Both supernatural blades that have jolted the world since ancient days have reawakened…and the truth behind them is revealed!
