Yōsuke Akimoto (秋元 羊介, Akimoto Yōsuke, born February 5, 1944) is a Japanese actor and voice actor.
Biography[]
After graduating from the Faculty of Economics at Hosei University, he attended the Bungakuza Training School for six years and joined Mitomo Productions (now Niikura Office) in 1971, where he made his debut as a voice actor for the movie Gunboat San Pablo. He moved to Ogi Office in 1974 and Yamaguchi Office in 1977, and was affiliated with Ezaki Productions (now Mouse Promotion) from 1982 to November 2015. He joined Office PAC in December 2015.
He used to be an actor, appearing in a variety of works, both period and modern, and was a regular in Senkosha's works.
He has a thick voice and plays the role of a downtown dad turned villain boss.
His hobbies are sports and training. He has been riding motorcycles for about 30 years.
He has a strong attachment to Master Asia, the Undefeated Master of the East, from Mobile Fighter G Gundam, and even after the series has ended, he receives offers to appear in it almost every year. He also appears in a radio commercial for COSPA with Tomokazu Seki, who played Domon Kasshu in G Gundam. This is a parody commercial that was made possible because Yamaken, a director of Tablier Communications, the company that operates COSPA, is a big fan of the series.
He has appeared in many of the works that Yasuhiro Imagawa has been involved in, and has played many important roles in Imagawa's works, such as the aforementioned Touhou Fuhai and Shocking Alberto (Giant Robo THE ANIMATION - The Day the Earth Stood Still).
