Yōko Honna (本名 陽子 Honna Yōko , born January 7, 1979) is a Japanese actress and voice actress from Saitama Prefecture, Japan. She was formerly affiliated with 81 Produced, and is currently affiliated with ReMax.
Biography[]
In 1991, when she was in the first year of junior high school, she made her debut as a voice actress in Only Yesterday.
In 1995, she starred in the Studio Ghibli film Whisper of the Heart as Shizuku Tsukishima.
In 2004, she voiced Cure Black, also known as Misumi Nagisa, in Pretty Cure, her first leading role in a TV anime. In 2005, she played the role of Yoshino Anri in the game Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love, and also appeared in the review show for the same work.
In September 2006, she appeared in Shinjuku Geinosha's 8th performance "Chindon", and then played the heroine in the 11th performance "DiCaprio on Ginza Street" and the 12th performance "Putting You on the Wings of Song".
On her blog on July 30, 2014, she announced her marriage to an ordinary man. On June 20, 2015, she gave birth to her first child, a girl. On May 5, 2017, she gave birth to her second child, a boy. During her appearance on Nico Nico Live Broadcast, where her work Whisper of the Heart was broadcast on Friday Road Show!, she revealed this and updated her blog, confessing that she had experienced a miscarriage once.
Her special skills are Italian, Russian, playing piano, and tap dancing. Tennis, Calligraphy (6th dan), Juggling, and Korean dance are also listed as her special skills on her official website. Her hobbies are visiting cafes, cooking, photography, reading, and watching plays and movies. She also travels abroad.
Due to her proficiency in Italian, she participated as a supervisor in the anime series A Certain Magical Index and Campione!.
She has a deep connection with Studio Ghibli's feature films, and has appeared in a total of three of them, as well as narrating the Ghibli Museum Library.
