Venus Wars is a 1989 anime film based on the manga with the same name written and illustrated by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko. It ran from 1986 to 1990 with a total of 4 volumes.

It was animated by Kugatsusha, directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and was released in Japanese theaters on March 11, 1989. It was licensed respectively by Manga Entertainment and Central Park Media for the United Kingdom and the United States. It gained recognition on Sci-Fi Channel's "Saturday Anime" movie block in the early 1990s. It was released on VHS in North America by Central Park Media on October 20, 1993.

Sentai Filmworks licensed the movie in 2020 after Discotek Media's license to the film was expired. They also produce an English Dub for the film. They released it on Blu-ray on February 23, 2021.

Synopsis In the 21st century, mankind lives on two worlds. Following the collision of an ice asteroid, massive terraforming has made Venus a planet now capable of supporting life. Colonists from Earth tamed the hostile world and have thrived for four generations. But they also brought the darker side of humanity. Venus is about to get hostile again. Hiro Seno, a hotshot motorcycle jockey, witnesses the first strike against his country Aphrodia, by the rival nation of Ishtar. Huge battletanks and warplanes quickly lay waste to the city. The Aphrodian army is quick to mobilize and retaliate... and despite his opposition to warfare, Hiro finds himself fighting for his life on the front lines.
