Notes[]
- The series is named after the heavily edited American gag dub of the film "Underdogs" despite the English version of this show being based on the original Spanish version of the film.
- Notably, Capi and Beto are reverted back from their dubbed names in both the UK and US releases of the original film, respectively Captain Skip and Rico. However, Loco/Ziggy's name is changed to Kiko in this series.
- This is Marc Thompson, Ryan Nicolls, Jeremy Levy, Grace Choi, Jason Yudoff, and Monique Gabriel's first dubbing roles and contributions at Digital Arts NY. Gabriel in particular hadn't done any voice work prior to the show (dubbing or otherwise), making this her only voice over role so far.
- According to sound mixer Frank Verderosa, the English dub was recorded first while the Spanish speakers dubbed over it. However, the latter dub was finished before the former, technically making the English version the second language.[3]
- Some of the voices for the recurring characters are provided by the main cast. Marc Thompson, who voices the main villain Worst, for example, also voices Sergeant Referee, Mike Morales, Chester, and others.
- For the returning characters at least, none of the original voice actors in the Weinstien dub reprise their roles in the series, likely because its produced on a smaller budget and because the original Spanish dub also replaced its voice cast:
- Ryan Nicolls replaces Taran Killam as Capi.
- Jason Yudoff replaces Eugenio Derbez as Beto.
- Jeremy Levy replaces John Leguizamo as Kiko, the show's equivalent to Loco.
- The end credits for the tenth episode, "Gigi's Pet Project", is the only episode to credit the English dub cast, whereas other episodes would only credit the original Spanish cast.
- Additionally, Ryan Nicolls' surname is erroneously misspelled as "Niccols".
- The English dub tends to suffer from audio issues, which can range from minor like grunts and noises being left silent or undubbed, to significant like entire dialogues not being dubbed at all; an example being "Magic Moments", where Beto saying "se fue la pelota?" ("[Where] did the ball go?"), is left intact in the English dub. In one instance, specifically in "Planet Sports Café", Capi's Spanish voice can be heard overlapping with his English voice.
