UQ Holder!, also known as UQ Holder! Magister Negi Magi! 2 (UQ HOLDER! ~魔法先生ネギま!2~) in Japan, is a 2017 anime series based on the manga series with the same name written and illustrated by Ken Akamatsu. It was serialized and published in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine and Bessatsu Shonen Magazine from August 28, 2013 to February 9, 2022, with a total of 28 volumes.
The series was announced in Weekly Shōnen Magazine in June 2016. It was animated by J.C.Staff, directed by Youhei Suzuki, and aired in Japan from October 2, 2017 to December 18, 2017, consisting of 12 episodes.
Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime. Originally exclusive on Amazon in the U.S., HIDIVE simulcasted the anime outside of the U.S., then later premiering in both U.S. and Canada on May 25, 2018. Sentai Filmworks also produced an English Dub of the series, which was released in the Blu-Ray release on November 27, 2018.
