Treasure of Silver Lake (also known as The Treasure of Silver Lake) is a 1962 German-Yugoslavian Western film, based on the novel Der Schatz im Silbersee by German author Karl May. It was the first installment in a series of films based on the novels of May. The films have since garnered a cult status in Germany and several other Eastern European countries.

Synopsis

A robbed stagecoach arrives in the small western town of Tulsa. Inside lies the murdered father of Fred Engel. Fred's father was carrying part of a treasure map that leads to the mysterious Silver Lake and was stolen by the bandit Colonel Brinkley. Fred Engel sets off in search of the murderers and, together with Sam Hawkens and the rhyming Gunstick Uncle, meets Old Shatterhand and Winnetou, who have also already discovered the crime.
