Togo Igawa (伊川 東吾 Igawa Togo, born September 26, 1946) is a Japanese-born English actor and voice actor who works primarily in films and television.
Career[]
Igawa trained in Japan at The Haiyuza Theatre Company Acting School and Toho Gakuen College of Drama and Music. In 1968 he joined the Theatre Centre 68, and went on to tour throughout Japan, performing in more than 120 cities. In 1983 he moved to England. In 1986, he became a member of The Royal Shakespeare Company as its first Japanese actor. Since then he has appeared extensively on stage, film, television and radio worldwide. In 2006, he formed Ichiza Theatre Company in London.
In recent years he has had roles in major motion pictures such as Revolver, Memoirs of a Geisha and The Last Samurai. He has also appeared in the Israeli movie A Matter of Size. Additionally Igawa provides the voice for the character Professor Moshimo on the cartoon series Robotboy and the voice for the character Hiro, who first appeared in Hero of the Rails, in Thomas & Friends. He appears in 2011's Johnny English Reborn, the sequel to Johnny English, as English's Tibetan guru, and is in the 2012 film Gambit playing businessman Takagawa.
Igawa voiced the main villain Colonel Lee in the video game Crysis Warhead and the Yakuza character Jiro in the video game Payday 2.
Igawa lives in England with his wife Adrienne Baba.
