The Unwanted Undead Adventurer

The Unwanted Undead Adventurer is a 2024 anime based on the novel series with the same name written by Yū Okano. It began publishing on September 22, 2016. The light novel version of the series was written by the same author, with it being illustrated by Jaian, and it was serialized and published by Overlap under their Overlap Novels imprint on October 25, 2017.

The anime series was announced at the "Overlap Bunko 9th Anniversary Online Event" on April 17, 2022.^[1] It was animated by Connect, directed by Noriaki Akitaya, and aired in Japan from January 8, 2024 to March 25, 2024, consisting of 12 episodes. The second season of the series was announced on December 15, 2024.^[2]

Crunchyroll licensed the series to stream on its service. On July 23, 2024, Crunchyroll announced that the series would produce and receive an English Dub, which premiered on its streaming service on July 24, 2024^[3]^[4].

Synopsis
Rentt Faina has hunted monsters for the last 10 years. Sadly, he’s not great at his job, stuck hunting slimes and goblins for a few coins each day. His luck turns when he finds an undiscovered path. At the path’s end, he meets his demise in the maw of a legendary dragon. But, he wakes up as an undead bag of bones! He sets out to achieve Existential Evolution and rejoin the land of the living.
