The Mr. Men Show is a Canadian/American live-action/animated TV series based on the books by Roger Hargreaves that served as an American localization for the 1995 children's television series Mr. Men and Little Miss. It was mostly the same as the original British version, but this version utilized a new theme song and different music score, as well as adding live action skits featuring "The Mr. Men Players". It was broadcast in Canada on CBC Kids and BookTelevision and was syndicated on various UPN affiliates and channels such as HBO and PBS in the United States.

The redubbed Mr. Men and Little Miss episodes were broadcast separate from the live action segments on Cartoon Network following the show's end in 1999.

Additional Voices[]

Notes[]

  • Peter Keefe, the creator of Voltron and Saber Rider & the Star Sheriffs, served as the creative consultant for the American localization for the series.
  • The original music score is replaced by a new one done by Rave Music.
  • Some of the characters' voices are imitations of other accents or actors, for example, Mr. Strong's voice is an imitation of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
  • There are instances in the US dub where some of the characters are voiced by different actors in some scenes. This has led to various misattributions partly due to the US dub's obscure nature.
  • It is rumored that the 1998 Christmas special The Christmas Letter also had a dub recorded with American voice actors due to Lacey Entertainment (who co-distributed the US dub of the series alongside The Summit Media Group) also distributing it and there also being a credit for "American Voice Cast Direction" despite only the UK cast being credited.
    • However, due to the voice director credited (Brendan Donnison) being based in London rather than Toronto, it's likely that this dub was recorded with an entirely different voice cast than the US dub of the series was.
  • Despite the American releases of their books being released under different titles, Mr. Jelly, Mr. Mean, and Little Miss Dotty retain their original names in the American dub.
  • Although the original Mr. Men and Little Miss is available on DVD in Canada and is streaming on Amazon Prime Instant Video in the United States, both releases carry the British dub rather than the American dub. Currently only a handful of episodes of the American dub have made it online.
  • The only episodes of the American dub that haven't been found are the following:
    1. Mr. Strong: King of the Circus (incomplete)
    2. Little Miss Splendid's Gift
    3. What a Choice for Little Miss Fickle
    4. Mr. Clumsy in the Brain and the Brain (incomplete)
