The Legend of Calamity Jane was an animated television series produced by Canal+ and France 3. It aired in France and Canada between September 13, 1997 and June 26, 1998.

- Jennifer Jason Leigh was originally cast as the voice of Calamity Jane. However, two weeks before the show was to premiere, the producers decided to re-cast the role with Barbara Weber-Scaff. None of the dialogue recorded by Leigh was used in the final show. However, due to the short notice, the promotional ads aired on the WB used the lines by Leigh.
- In October 2022, a Kickstarter was made for a DVD release of the series by Comix.tv. It only completed its main goal of $15,000 on October 26, 2022.[1]
- Discotek Media released the series on Blu-ray on September 26, 2023.[2]
- Clancy Brown also voiced Wild Bill Hicock in the Kids WB! series Histeria!
