The Kingdoms of Ruin

The Kingdoms of Ruin (はめつのおうこく, Hametsu no Ōkoku) is a 2023 anime series based on the manga series with the same name written and illustrated by yoruhashi. It started serialization in Mag Garden's Monthly Comic Garden magazine on April 5, 2019.

The anime series was announced on February 1, 2023.^[1] It was animated by Yokohama Animation Lab., directed by Keitaro Motonaga, written by Takamitsu Kono, composed by Miki Sakurai, Shu Kanematsu, and Hanae Nakamura, and it premiered in Japan from October 7, 2023 to December 23, 2023, consisting of 12 episodes.

Crunchyroll licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered on their streaming service on October 20, 2023.^[2]

Synopsis

Witches once blessed the human race with wisdom and peace. But the Redia Empire's "Gear Expansion" brought about a culture of science that far surpassed magic, and witches were viewed as enemies impeding the progress of civilization. Thus began the witch hunts. One human named Adonis, who was raised by a witch named Chloe, swears revenge against the human race that took his beloved mentor from him. What salvation can be found at the end of a bloodbath fueled by utter despair?
