The Cat Returns (猫の恩返し Neko no Ongaeshi) is a 2002 Japanese animated drama film directed by Hiroyuki Morita of Studio Ghibli. It was theatrically released in Japan on July 19, 2002 through the Toho Company.
It premiered at the Los Angeles Anime Film Festival in 2003 in the United States through Buena Vista Distribution. It was later released to DVD in the US on September 28, 2005.
