The Adventures of Panda Warrior, also known as The Adventures of Jinbao (大兵金寶歷險記 Da Bing Jin Bao Li Xian Ji) in Cantonese, is a Chinese-Hong Kong 3D animated film directed by Kwok-Shing Lo. The film was originally released in China on August 10, 2012. The film was released direct-to-video in the United States on August 2, 2016.

Synopsis A peace-loving soldier from Imperial China is magically transported into a world ruled by an evil nine-headed snake. Transformed into a giant panda, he joins forces with a flying pig to free the once-peaceful Merryland from tyranny. But first, he must train to be the kingdom's most courageous panda warrior.

Dubbing History

In 2016, Lionsgate released the film direct-to-video in the United States under a new title The Adventures of Panda Warrior. This was likely an attempt to capitalize on Kung Fu Panda 3 which had been released that same year. The English dub features a celebrity voice cast such as Rob Schneider, Norm MacDonald, and Haylie Duff, as well as voice actor Tom Kenny. The dub was recorded at Bang Zoom! Entertainment in Los Angeles. The dub features quite a few translation differences, most notably name changes such as the titular character Jinbao being re-named Patrick.
