Dubbing History

4 years after his originak initial release, the film was picked up by Lionsgate and given an English dub utilizing a stunt cast featuring celebrity voices such as Rob Schneider, Norm MacDonald, and Haylie Duff, as well as voice actor Tom Kenny. The film was released direct-to-video in the United States in 2016 under a new title The Adventures of Panda Warrior. This was likely an attempt to capitalize on Kung Fu Panda 3 which had been released that same year. The dub was recorded at Bang Zoom! Entertainment in LA. The dub features quite a few translation differences, most notably the titular character Jinbao being re-named Patrick, the rest of the characters were given name changes as well, mostly very distinct names whereas in the original they were simply named by the animals they were.
