Masaaki Shingaki (新垣 正明, Shingaki Masaaki, born June 18, 1976), better known by his stage name Tarusuke Shingaki (新垣 樽助, Shingaki Tarusuke), is a Japanese voice actor from Okinawa, Japan. He is currently affiliated with Mausu Promotion.
His most notable roles include Kariya Matou in Fate/Zero, Eishirō Kite in The Prince of Tennis II, Togusa in Ghost in the Shell: Arise, Lemillion in My Hero Academia, Yashiro in Twittering Birds Never Fly: The Clouds Gather, and Yugo Kakitani in Vivy -Fluorite Eye's Song-.
Biography[]
His stage name "Tarusuke" comes from his late grandfather's former name Tarusuke, but he says he had only seen him in a portrait of his grandfather.
After entering university, he saved up money through part-time work and began attending a one-year voice acting vocational school in his second year of university. After that, he didn't slack off on his studies at university, and was determined to graduate without failing any classes, and he juggled university life, part-time work, and attending a vocational school.
His first job was dubbing a foreign drama, playing the role of a prison guard. After graduating from Eizo Techno Academia in 2001, he joined Mausu Promotion. In 2020, he played his first leading role in a TV anime as Cadiz Etrama de Raigel in Noblesse.
He is also active as part of the music group Tarunyu.
