Spirit Warrior, also known as Peacock King, is a 1988 OVA series based on the manga with the same name written and illustrated by Makoto Ogino. It was serialized and published by Shueisha and Leed from 1985 to 2019, with a total of 45 volumes.

The OVA series was released in Japan from April 29, 1988 to September 21, 1991, consisting of 5 episodes in total. It was announced that Central Park Media would release the OVA series. It was first released in North America with episodes 4 and 5 on DVD on August 12, 2003 and December 2, 2003. Then episodes 1 to 3 were released from February 10, 2004 to June 8, 2004. Then it was released in 1 volume on the same day as the release of episode 3 on June 8, 2004.

Synopsis

A young mystic without a past, Kujaku was born under a dark omen possessed of incredible supernatural powers. Raised by priests, he has learned to use these powers for good. But the evil Siegfried von Mittgard seeks to steal his birthright, and rule the world as the Regent of Darkness. He has dispatched bloodthirsty minions to destroy Kujaku before he can awaken to his destiny. Now, Kujaku must unravel the riddle of his past, before the power within consumes him.
