Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit is a 2019 original anime series. It was animated by ANIMA&CO., directed by Harume Kosaka, chief directed by Takayuki Kuriyama, series composition by Yuichiro Higashide, composed by Ryō Takahashi, and it premiered in Japan from October 6, 2019 to December 29, 2019, consisting of 12 episodes. An unaired OVA episode was included in the second Blu-Ray & DVD release of the series in Japan, which was released January 24, 2020.
Funimation licensed and produced an English SimulDub of the series, which premiered on the FunimationNow streaming service on October 20, 2019.[1] The OVA was also included in Funimation's Blu-Ray & DVD release, which was released on November 3, 2020, and became available on Funimation's streaming service on February 7, 2020.[2]
