Sonic Colors, known as Sonic Colours in English PAL regions, is a 2010 platform game published by Sega. It follows Sonic's quest to stop his nemesis Doctor Eggman from enslaving an alien race and taking over the world. The gameplay is similar to prior Sonic games, with players collecting rings and defeating enemies; the camera perspective often switches from third-person to side-scrolling perspectives. The game also introduces Wisps, power-ups the player can use to increase attack power and reach new areas.

A remastered edition of the Wii version, Sonic Colors: Ultimate, known as Sonic Colours: Ultimate in English PAL regions, was released on September 7, 2021 for Windows, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

Synopsis After supposedly developing a sense of remorse for his past misdeeds, Dr. Eggman opens an amusement park called "Dr. Eggman's Amazing Interstellar Amusement Park", which is located in space made up of several planet-sized attractions, in order to make up for his transgressions. Suspicious of the doctor's intentions, Sonic and Tails investigate in the amusement park before the opening day. As they comment on how pretty the place is, they see Orbot and Cubot chasing two alien-like creatures; Sonic promptly rescues them, and ends up discovering wonderful powers with some of them. The aliens are called Wisps, and one of them that Sonic saved is named Yacker. In order to communicate with Yacker, Tails builds a translator in his Miles Electric. Through communicating with Yacker, they learn that the other Wisps have been captured by Dr. Eggman, who plans to harness their energy, called Hyper-Go-On, for his nefarious schemes.
