Sonic: Night of the Werehog (ソニック&チップ 恐怖の館 Sonikku & Chippu Kyōfu no Yakata, lit. "Sonic & Chip House of Terror") is a 3D-animated, comedy-based, dialogue-less short by SEGA VE Animation Studio, known as Marza Animation Planet Inc. today, based on and taking place within the events of Sonic Unleashed. In the short, Sonic and Chip enter a classic haunted house that is haunted by three ghosts, two of who are trying to win the affection of a third, Lah, by photographing the expressions of people they have scared. However, the ghosts did not expect the brave Sonic to be a Werehog. The short was originally released on 17 November 2008. In Japan, the short was screened at nine multiplexes nationwide for a limited period of three weeks from 20 December 2008 to 9 January 2009, and broadcast on Kids Station starting 1 March 2009, before becoming freely available on the official Japanese website and Xbox LIVE/PlayStation Store services on 9 April 2009. Aside from replacing Sonic and Chip's voices, altering the ending credits to reflect the change of voice actors, and adding the "Sonic & Chip House of Terror" subtitle to the title card, the Japanese version's content remained the same.
