School Rumble (スクールランブル) is a 2004 anime series based on the manga written by Jin Kobayashi. It was serialized and published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine, Magazine Special, and Shōnen Magazine Wonder magazines under their Shōnen Magazine Comics imprint from October 23, 2002 to May 20, 2009, with a total of 29 volumes.
The series overall was animated by Studio Comet, written by Hiroko Tokita, and music composed by Toshiyuki Omori. The first season was directed by Shinji Takamatsu, and it aired on TV Tokyo from October 2004 to March 29, 2005, consisting of 26 episodes. The second season titled School Rumble: 2nd Semester was directed by Takaomi Kanasaki, and it aired from April 3, 2006 to September 25, 2006, consisting of 26 episodes.
The English adaption of the series was licensed and produced by FUNimation Entertainment, which was released on DVD on August 21, 2007. The second season's English Dub was released on DVD on October 14, 2008.
Synopsis
Tsukamoto Tenma is an ordinary 2nd year high school student who has fallen in love with one of her classmates, Karasuma Ooji. However, currently she is unable to confess her feelings to him. To make things worse, she found out that Karasuma is transferring to another school in a year. On the other hand, Tenma's other classmate, Harima Kenji (who is a delinquent) is also in love with Tenma. Not being able to confess his feelings, Harima gets depressed day by day.
