Dubbing History[]
Sailor Moon R was originally dubbed alongside the first series by DiC Entertainment, with much of the same mandated edits as the previous season.
The dub of R first aired on the Canadian channel YTV from October 25 to November 28, 1995 and later in Syndication in the United States the same year. Due to DiC only being interested in a standard 65-episode cartoon only the first 25 episodes were dubbed. However Irwin Toys and General Mills ended up paying for the final 17 episodes to be dubbed in 1997. Due to the time gap, Sailor Mars and Tuxedo Mask's voice actors were unavailable and had to be replaced. Compared to the first series, which had 6 episodes removed, only 1 was removed from R (episode 67).
This would be the last series licensed by DiC Entertainment. When the show proved popular in re-airings on Cartoon Network's Toonami block, Cloverway, Inc. and Pioneer paid for licensing, dubbing and distribution for S and SuperS. The show was still produced by Optimum Productions, who also provided the dubbing for season 1 and 2 for DiC.
In 2014, Viz Media announced that they had acquired the Sailor Moon anime series and would redub all the series uncut, including R. Viz's dub of R was first released on Blu-Ray and DVD from July 14 to October 27, 2015.

Episodic Characters[]
Additional Voices[]
Notes[]
- Due to Viz not using any custom credits (just the original Japanese credits); most of the voice cast (aside from the main cast revealed by press releases and the actors) is unknown.
- In 1997, the series had an English dub that was recorded in Malaysia by Speedy Video. The dub has the same poor quality as their Dragon Ball Z movie dubs. It was released on VCD. At least 6 volumes were released consisting of almost the entire Makai Tree arc; it is unknown if any further volumes have been made.
- This is Veronica Taylor's first new anime role for four years since Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor and her first LA role.
Transmission[]
Note that only the DiC dub has aired on television.
