Return of Daimajin (大魔神怒る, lit. The Angering of Daimajin) is a 1966 Japanese kaiju film directed by Kenji Misumi and written by Tetsuro Yoshida.
Dubbing history[]
The English export dub of Return of Daimajin was produced by Axis International in 1967. The English export dub of Return of Daimajin, released under the title Return of Majin, was not known to have existed before it was released as a special feature in Kadokawa's Daimajin Sealed Box box set in 2021. Since this discovery, it is believed that Axis International also dubbed the currently digitally unavailable English export dubs for Daimajin and Wrath of Daimajin. Return of Daimajin's English export dub cast consists of Warren Rooke, Linda Masson, an unknown male dubber of Canadian descent (unknown 1), Ted Thomas, a second unknown male dubber (unknown 2), Barry Haigh, an unknown female dubber, and Saul Lockhart.
Return of Daimajin was first syndicated on US television by American International Television in 1970 as Return of Giant Majin. This dub was produced by Titan Productions in the same year and possibly used dialogue from the English export dub as a basis for its script. Although available from gray market entities like Sinister Cinema and Something Weird Video in the 1990s and on Retromedia's 2006 Giant Majin Collection DVD, the US dub's first licensed home video release came in 2012 on Mill Creek's Daimajin Triple Feature Blu-ray. It's presently available on Blu-ray in Arrow Video's The Daimajin Trilogy box set.
