Rain Boy (雨ふり小僧, Amefuri Kozō) is a 24-minute anime OVA adaptation based on the 1975 short story of the same name written by Osamu Tezuka, who also directed its animated adaption.
It was the second installment in a planned 26-part series of animated adaptations of various Tezuka short stories published in his Lion Books and New Lion Books series. The first two parts, The Green Cat and Rain Boy were completed in 1983 and were intended for the straight-to-video market but for whatever reason this didn't happen. Rain Boy would eventually be released on VHS in 1989.
