Rachael Lillis (July 8, 1969 - August 10, 2024) was an American voice actress, actress and script writer. She studied acting in Boston and New York City and appeared in various theater productions, animated series and independent films.
Biography[]
Lillis' voice work could be heard in shows including Pokémon (seasons 1-8), Cubix, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Revolutionary Girl Utena. She also lent her voice to video games and recorded several audio books including Diary of a Fairy Godmother, for which she performed the voices for about 25 characters.
She resided in Los Angeles, California, in 2013.
On May 13, 2024, Rachael's sister, Laurie Orr, announced, through the GoFundMe page, that Lillis had been diagnosed with breast cancer that eventually spread to her spine and lived in a nursing home facility in Los Angeles since late January of 2024.
Lillis passed away from the disease at her home in Los Angeles, on August 10, 2024, at the age of 55.

- Since 2019, Lillis had stopped appearing in anime dubs due to her becoming an audiobook narrator and battling with breast cancer until her eventual death. As a result her various roles were recast:
- Michele Knotz replaced her as Misty and Jessie in Pokémon and she been voiced them ever since after show's recasting in 2006.
- Brianna Knickerbocker and Carrie Keranen replaced her as Pirica and Zria in the 2021 adaptation of Shaman King.
- G.K. Bowes replaced her as Princess Charlotte in Berserk: The Golden Age Arc II: The Battle for Doldrey, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc III: The Advent, Berserk: The Golden Age Arc - Memorial Edition and Berserk (2016) (However, she did returned for Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I: The Egg of the King briefly).
- Julia McIlvaine replaced her as Sella (Only in the original Theatrical Version) in Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower and Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel III. spring song.
