Powerpuff Girls Z (出ましたっ!パワパフガールズZ Demashita! Pawapafu Gāruzu Zetto) is a Japanese magical girl anime series directed by Megumu Ishiguro, based on the American animated television series The Powerpuff Girls. The anime is co-produced by Cartoon Network Japan and Aniplex and was animated and produced by Toei Animation, featuring character designs by Miho Shimogasa. As production occurred in Japan, Craig McCracken, the original creator of The Powerpuff Girls, was not directly involved with the project.
The 52-episode series aired in Japan on TV Tokyo between July 1, 2006, and June 30, 2007.
Dubbing History[]
The series was dubbed by Ocean Productions for airing on Cartoon Network in the Philippines. As such, none of the original voice actors for the original Powerpuff Girls are present in the dub with most of the voice cast doing imitations of the original voices (though the Japanese version didn't have any of the original voice cast from the Japanese dub of the original series either). The series has not aired in the United States.

- The girls' secret identity and actual names are the same.
- Some of the original voice actors for the original Powerpuff Girls have expressed interest in making their own dub of the series.
- Snake/Ivy's gender is changed from male to female in the dub.
- In their first appearance, The Gangreen Gang's names were all their original names, but when they later appear, their names were changed.
