Oshi no Ko (【推しの子】) is a 2023 anime series based on the manga series written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari. It began serialization in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine on April 23, 2020.

The anime was announced in June 2022. An extended 90-minute version of the first episode premiered at selected theaters in Japan on March 17, 2023, then it premiered in North America exclusively at Anime Boston on April 7, 2023. It was animated by Doga Kobo, directed by Daisuke Hiramaki, and premiered in Japan from April 12, 2023 to June 28, 2023, consisting of 11 episodes. The second season of the series started airing in Japan from July 3, 2024 to October 6, 2024, consisting of 13 episodes.

Sentai Filmworks licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered on HIDIVE on May 24, 2023[1][2]. Medialink also licensed the series for Southern and Southeast Asia. Hulu also added the anime to their streaming serivce on July 1, 2024[3]. On July 17, 2024, it was announced that the English Dub of the second season will have a world premiere screening at Anime NYC on August 23, 2024[4]. The English Dub of the second season premiered on September 13, 2024[5][6].

Synopsis

Gorō Amemiya works as an OB-GYN in a small rural town and is a huge fan of upcoming idol Ai Hoshino. After an unexpected meeting, Goro ends up dying suddenly only to be reborn as one of Ai's children; a boy named Aquamarine Hoshino (or Aqua for short). He and his twin sister Ruby then grows up as one of show-biz's biggest secrets.
