Notes[]

  • ADV Films' decision to release the series as Ninja Resurrection caused much confusion among anime fans. Some were led to believe that this was a sequel to Ninja Scroll, as both titles featured a main character named Jubei, while the title logo was given a design similar to that of the latter. Others saw this as just ADV's attempt to capitalize on the latter's popularity. While Ninja Resurrection sold well in the U.S., the deceptive marketing gave it one of the worst reputations in American anime fandom.
