Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation is a 2021 anime series based on the web novel with the same name written by Rifujin na Magonote. It was published by Shōsetsuka ni Narō from November 22, 2012 to April 3, 2015, with a total of 25 volumes. The light noel version of the series was illustrated by Shirotaka, and it was published by Media Factory under their MF Books imprint from January 24, 2014 to November 25, 2022, with a total of 26 volumes. The manga version of the series was illustrated by Yuka Fujikawa, and was serialized in Media Factory's Monthly Comic Flapper magazine on May 2, 2014.
The anime series was announced on the official website of MF Books on March 15, 2019.[1] The series overall would be animated by Studio Bind (which would be the studio's first ever project they made), and composed by Yoshiaki Fujisawa. The first season was directed and written by Manabu Okamoto, and was split into two cours, which premiered the first part in Japan from January 11, 2021 to March 22, 2021, consisting of 11 episodes. The second part of the first season premiered from October 4, 2021 to December 20, 2021, consisting of 12 episodes, which makes the first season consisting overall of 23 episodes.
The second season was announced on March 6, 2022.[2] It was split into two cours like the previous season, with it written by Toshiya Ono, the first part directed by Hiroki Hirano, and the second part directed by Ryōsuke Shibuya. It premiered the first part from July 3, 2023 to September 25, 2023, consisting of 13 episodes, and the second part premiered from April 8, 2024 to July 1, 2024, consisting of 12 episodes. Consisting overall with 25 episodes.
The third season was announced after the airing of the second season's final episode.[3]
Funimation licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered the first part of the season on their streaming service on February 14, 2021.[4][5] The second part of the season later premiered on October 31, 2021.[6] Crunchyroll took over the dubbing production of the series for season 2 after Funimation's closure in 2022. It premiered the first part of season 2's English Dub on their streaming service on July 23, 2023.[7][8] The second part of season 2 later premiered on April 21, 2024.[9][10]
