Monsters: 103 Mercies Dragon Damnation (MONSTERS 一百三情飛龍侍極, Monsutāzu Ippaku Sanjō Hiryū Jigoku) is a Japanese ONA by E&H Production, based on the one-shot manga Monsters by Eiichiro Oda, published by Shueisha in the Autumn Special issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump in 1994. It premiered on Netflix in January 2024.
Synopsis
Samurai Ryuma lives in a world threatened by a dragon unleashing catastrophic destruction. Ryuma embarks on a quest to vanquish the dragon. He faces numerous obstacles and challenges along his journey.
In contrast to Crunchyroll/Funi in Dallas, Texas where One Piece is dubbed, this series is recorded in Los Angeles, California via Studiopolis. However, Christopher Sabat, a typical Dallas-based voice actor, reprises his role as Roronoa Zoro in addition of narrating this special. However, the only character that has a different voice actor would be Robbie Daymond as Shimotsuki Ryuma instead of Ian Sinclair, due to the character being younger in the special, in which his form from the One Piece series only appears in the end.
This is the first and so-far only One Piece media where the dub is unionized in part due to Netflix's deal with SAG-AFTRA and also due to appearance of Kyle McCarley.
