Mobile Fighter G Gundam (機動武闘伝Gガンダム Kidō Butōden G Gundam) is a mecha anime series produced by Nippon Sunrise, the fifth installment in the Gundam franchise, and the first to take place in an alternate continuity from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series. It originally aired in Japan from April 22, 1994 to March 31, 1995 on TV Asahi.
Dubbing History[]
While Gundam Wing, the original Gundam series, and several others in the franchise were dubbed by Ocean Productions in Vancouver throughout the 2000s, the English dub of G Gundam was produced at Blue Water Studios in Calgary. As with Wing and the original series before it, G Gundam aired in the U.S. on Cartoon Network's Toonami block, premiering on August 5, 2002 and continuing in re-runs on the channel through Summer 2003. The dub was edited for content, which included (even in the uncut version) re-naming the titular God Gundam as the Burning Gundam and the Devil Gundam as the Dark Gundam.
