Biography[]
He started acting when he was a student at Gakushuin University and joined the Shakespeare Play Research Club, a club that performed Shakespeare's works once a year. After graduating from university, he had the opportunity to meet and talk with celebrities and actors while working part-time, which led to his interest in voice acting as a profession.
In 1987, he graduated from the Tokyo Announcement Academy and entered the training school attached to Ezaki Production. He has been with Ezaki Production since 1989. In 2011, he founded the acting unit Shinjuku 625 with Naomi Kusumi, Shinya Fukumatsu, Masaki Terasoma, and Yōko Sōmi, who were also affiliated with the same agency.
He has a Tsugaru dialect. With a thin, sharp voice, he plays a variety of roles, from animals to old people to cheerful uncles in supporting roles.
