Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid (小林さんちのメイドラゴン Kobayashi-san Chi no Meidoragon) is a 2017 Japanese anime series based on the manga series written and illustrated by Coolkyoushinja. It was serialized and published in Futabasha's Monthly Action (2013–2024) & Manga Action (2024–present) magazines on May 25, 2013.
The anime series was announced on April 18, 2016.[1] The series was overall animated/produced by Kyoto Animation, series composition by Yuka Yamada, and music composed by Masumi Itō. The first season was directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto, and it began airing in Japan from January 11, 2017 to April 7, 2017, consisting of 13 episodes. An OVA was included in the DVD/Bluray release of the series, which also counted as the 14th episode of the season.
The second season titled Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S was announced on February 11, 2019.[2] Tatsuya Ishihara took over as director in place of Yasuhiro Takemoto following his death in the Kyoto Animation arson attack. It premiered in Japan from July 8, 2021 to September 23, 2021, consisting of 12 episodes. The 2nd OVA of the series was included in the 2nd season's Blu-ray/DVD release, with it being listed at the 13th episode of the season and the 27th episode overall.
FUNimation Entertainment licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered on their streaming service on February 1, 2017.[3][4] The second season's English Dub premiered on August 4, 2021.[5][6] The 2nd OVA's English Dub was released onto Crunchyroll's streaming service on June 20, 2022.
