King of the Birds (Fuglekrigen i Kanøfleskoven) is a 1990 animated film produced by Dansk Tegnefilm and based on a book by Bent Haller. In 1998, an English dub produced by Ocean Productions was released and was supervised by former Filmation head Lou Scheimer.

Synopsis Fagin, an evil and cruel black vulture-like bird of prey, is a constant threat to the the forests birds, but two small birds, Oliver and Olivia, both orphaned because of him, takes up the fight against him.

Notes

• This dub of the movie completely fell into obscurity to the point where it was wondered if the original film was even dubbed at all. Some rumors persisted that the reason why the dub was so obscure was because that the movie was still not appropriate for children despite the edits done to the movie, as such, a release was possibly scrapped. In 2020, the dub was uploaded to YouTube, albeit under the English translation of the original title, War of the Birds.
• Despite the dub's extremely obscure nature, it somehow ended up being reused for the Russian and Portuguese dubs of the film and was even included on the DVD release of the former.
• The original music score composed by Fuzzy is replaced by a brand new score composed by Frank Becker.
• Several scenes were deleted in the English version, most likely in an attempt to make the movie more family-friendly, these include:
  • The opening scene is truncated, most likely in a hasty attempt to remove the original opening credits.
  • The movie's title song, "Oliver og Olivia", is deleted entirely.
  • Armstrong's seagull dropping running gag is written out.
  • Many scenes are either shortened or slightly extended.
  • Two scenes where characters point their middle fingers are edited out.
  • The "Down at the Pipe" sequence is changed almost entirely, most likely to hide a good amount of sexual content the original scene featured.
  • Most of the swearing is written out, with an exception where Fagin wails "Damn you!"
• The Russian version has different end credits, though still mention who worked on the dub whilst the voice actors are uncredited, as such, the voice cast had to be speculated based on the characters sounding similar to other characters the voice actor voiced.
