Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? (ダンジョンに出会いを求めるのは間違っているだろうか Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka), also well known as DanMachi, is a 2015 anime series based on the light novel series with the same name written by Fujino Ōmori and illustrated by Suzuhito Yasuda. It started serializing in SB Creative's GA Bunko imprint on January 15, 2013.
The anime series was animated by J.C.Staff, directed by Yoshiki Yamakawa for the first season, and it began airing its first season in Japan from April 3, 2015 to June 26, 2015, consisting of 13 episodes.
The second season of the series from then on was directed by Hideki Tachibana, and aired from July 13, 2019 to September 28, 2019, consisting of 12 episodes.
The third season of the series aired from October 3, 2020 to December 19, 2020, consisting of 12 episodes.
The fourth season was split into two parts, with the first part airing from July 23, 2022 to October 1, 2022, consisting of 11 episodes, and then the second part of the season aired from January 7, 2023 to March 18, 2023, also consisting of 11 episodes. Which made the season in total consist of 22 episodes.
The fifth season of the series was announced on November 4, 2023 following the 10th anniversary of the original light novel series.[1] It premiered in Japan on October 5, 2024, with it returning for the final four episodes of the season started airing on February 7, 2025.[2]
Sentai Filmworks licensed and released the first series on March 28, 2017 with an English Dub. The English dub of the second season was released as a Dubcast on HIDIVE's streaming service on July 19, 2019.[3] The third season's English Dub premiered on November 20, 2020.[4] The forth season's English Dub premiered the first part on September 22, 2022.[5] The second cour's English Dub of Season 4 premiered on April 20, 2023.[6] The fifth season English Dub made a world premiere at New York Comic Con on October 19, 2024[7], and it premiered on HIDIVE on November 13, 2024.[8] The fifth season's dub was halted as well due the delay of the episodes, and is scheduled to return with both episodes 12 & 13 on March 12, 2025.[9]
