I'm Quitting Heroing: Next Gig Is at the Demon Queen's Castle (勇者、辞めます~次の職場は魔王城~, Yūsha, Yamemasu: Tsugi no Shokuba wa Maōjō) is a 2022 Japanese anime series based on the fantasy light novel series with the same name written by Quantum and illustrated by Hana Amano. It was serialized online from January 12, 2017 to February 7, 2017 on Kadokawa's user-generated novel publishing website Kakuyomu. It was later published by Fujimi Shobo with three volumes from December 10, 2017 to October 10, 2018 under their Kadokawa Books imprint. It was reprinted under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint from February 19, 2022 to April 20, 2022. A manga adaptation with art by Nori Kazato has been serialized online via Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace Up website from May 31, 2018 to June 2, 2023, with a total of eight volumes. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in North America by Kadokawa, with Yen Press handling the manga's physical release.

The anime series was announced on October 20, 2021.[1] It was adpated and animated by EMT Squared, directed by Hisashi Ishii, chief directed by Yuu Nobuta, series composition by Shigeru Murakoshi, music composed by Kōhei Munemoto, and it premiered in Japan's on thier Tokyo MX & AT-X networks aired from April 5, 2022 to June 21, 2022, consisting of 12 episodes.

Sentai Filmworks licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered on HIDIVE's streaming service on July 12, 2022.[2] The Blu-ray of the series was released on January 24, 2023.

Hulu added the series to their streaming service on July 15, 2024.[3]

Synopsis

After saving humanity from the despicable Demon King, Leo Demonhart does not earn a hero’s standing. Instead, he is regarded with suspicion and hostility by those he fought to protect. Treated as a pariah with nowhere else to turn, exiled Leo seeks a position in the army of his former nemesis! But the army is not what it once was before its defeat at Leo’s hands, so to maintain his new position, Leo must whip the forces back into fighting shape.
