Grimoire of Zero (ゼロから始める魔法の書, Zero kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho, lit. "Starting the Magical Book from Zero") is a 2017 anime series based on the Japanese light novel series with the same name written by Kakeru Kobashiri and illustrated by Yoshinori Shizuma. The light novel won the Grand Prize at the 20th annual Dengeki Novel Awards. ASCII Media Works has published it in eleven volumes from February 8, 2014 to December 9, 2017, with a total of 11 volumes.
The series has received a manga adaptation illustrated by Takashi Iwasaki which was serialized and published in ASCII Media Works' Seinen Dengeki Maoh magazine from December 27, 2014 to December 10, 2017, with a total of 6 volumes. A spin-off manga series, Zero kara Hajimeru Mahō no Sho Nano! (ゼロから始める魔法の書なの) has also been published and illustrated by Yasuoka.
The anime series was announced at the Dengeki Fall Festival on October 2, 2016. It was adapted by White Fox, directed by Tetsuo Hirakawa, and it aired in Japan from April 10, 2017 to June 26, 2017, consisting of 12 episodes.
Sentai Filmworks licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, it premiered on HIDIVE on June 12, 2018, and then was released on Blu-Ray on June 26, 2018.[1][2][3]
