Gokudo the Adventurer (ゴクドーくん漫遊記, Gokudō-kun Man'yūki) is a 1999 anime based on the light novel series with the same written by Usagi Nakamura and illustrated by Takeru Kirishima. It was published by Kadokawa Shoten from June 1, 1991 to September 1, 1999 with a total of 13 volumes.
The anime was animated by Trans Arts, directed by Kunihisa Sugishima, and aired originally on TV Tokyo in Japan from April 2, 1999 to September 24, 1999, consisting of 26 episodes. Enoki Films licensed the anime as Jester the Adventurer. Media Blasters in 2001 distributed and translated Gokudo through their AnimeWorks division, and released it on DVD with an English Dub on October 30, 2001. Later on, Media Blasters lost their rights to Gokudo, then Discotek Media announced their licensing from Enoki Films in 2016.
