Goku Midnight Eye is a Japanese original video animation series directed by Yoshiaki Kawajiri based on the 3-volume sci-fi manga series by Buichi Terasawa. The series were produced by Toei Video, animated by Madhouse and released on home video in Japan from January 27, 1989 to December 22, 1989 with a total of 2 episodes.
Two dubs were made by first being produced by Manga Entertainment for UK and Australian markets in 1996 and then Pretend Productions commissioned by Orion Pictures but wasn't released under them due to their purchase by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Urban Vision Entertainment ended up obtaining rights few years after. Discotek Media later license rescued for an DVD re-release in 2017 and later on Blu-ray on October 31, 2023 including both dubs.
