Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (攻殻機動隊 STAND ALONE COMPLEX) is an anime television series produced by Production I.G and based on Masamune Shirow's manga Ghost in the Shell. It was written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with original character design by Hajime Shimomura and soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. The series originally aired in Japan between October 1, 2002 and October 1, 2003, consisting of 26 episodes. The series was released in North America on DVD by Manga Entertainment between July 27, 2004 and July 26, 2005.
Synopsis
In the future year of 2030, life between the digital and physical world has been blurred, and many people have become cyborgs with prosthetic bodies. Primarily set in the fictional Japanese city of New Port, the series follows the members of Section 9, a special-operations task-force made up of former military officers and police detectives. The series presents individual cases that Section 9 investigates, along with an ongoing, more serious investigation into the complex Laughing Man incidents.
Fukami is voiced by Jamieson Price in Episode 6, though is voiced by Steve Bulen in his other appearances. This is most likely due to Fukami's identity being unrevealed in the episode, and thus the Casting Director thought it to be a separate character.
The Tachikoma are all voiced by a single voice actress in the original Japanese version, while the dub utilizes separate female voice actresses portraying them (for example, Batou's favorite is voiced by Sandy Fox, while the one who reads books is Lara Jill Miller).
