Ghost in the Shell: S.A.C. 2nd GIG (攻殻機動隊 S.A.C. 2nd GIG) is an anime television series produced by Production I.G and based on Masamune Shirow's manga Ghost in the Shell. It was written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, with original character design by Hajime Shimomura and soundtrack by Yoko Kanno. It is a sequel to Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The series originally aired in Japan between January 1, 2004 and January 8, 2005, consisting of 26 episodes. The series was released in North America on DVD in a joint distribution effort between Bandai Entertainment and Manga Entertainment between September 20, 2005 and September 26, 2006.
