Fullmetal Alchemist: Revenge of Scar is a 2022 two-part Japanese dark fantasy science fiction adventure film based on the manga series by Hiromu Arakawa. The films were released on May 20 and June 24, 2022, respectively while the English dub was released on Netflix on August 20, 2022.
Synopsis
The Elric brothers encounter their toughest opponent yet: a serial killer with a large scar on his forehead, a mysterious figure who begins to target the state alchemists for their sins against God. While trying to catch him, they discover a series of dark secrets about some of his fellow alchemists. Alchemist Edward Elric and his brother Alphonse are at their most vulnerable, while the homunculi begin to reveal themselves once again.
Tyler Rhoads who directed the dub for the first film did not return to direct the dub for the sequel with the voice direction being taken over by Monia Ayachi.
Caitlin Glass and Todd Haberkorn are the only actors from the anime dub to reprise their roles for this film, with the former reprising her role as Winry Rockbell in the previous film.
Caleb replaced Vic Mignogna as Edward due to Mignogna being largely blacklisted from voice acting due to sexual harassment allegations in 2019, though the reason for Aaron Dismuke's recasting with Matthew Moy as Alphonse is currently unknown.
