Dubbing Wikia

Full Moon o Sagashite (をさがして, Furu Mūn wo Sagashite, lit. "Looking For Full Moon", alternatively titled Full Moon in English) is a Japanese anime series based on the shōjo manga by Arina Tanemura. Produced by Studio Deen. The series originally aired on TV Tokyo in Japan from April 6, 2002 to March 29, 2003, consisting of 52 episodes.

Viz Media licensed the anime and released the first 28 episodes (with the dub produced by Blue Water Studios) on DVD between 2006 to 2007. The songs are subtitled only, resulting in a dub that switches between English dialogue and Japanese singing. Due to low sales, Viz Media canceled the rest of the DVDs, leaving the rest of the episodes unreleased. It was unconfirmed if the rest of the series was dubbed until AnimEigo rescued the series and released the complete series with the rest of the English dub on Blu-ray in 2025.

Synopsis

Mitsuki Kōyama, a young girl with throat cancer, dreams of becoming an idol, though her illness threatens her voice. After rejecting surgery that could save her life, Mitsuki learns from two shinigami, Meroko and Takuto, that she has only one year left to live. Desperate to fulfill her dream, Mitsuki receives Takuto’s help to transform into a healthier, more adult version of herself, becoming the idol Full Moon. Now, with time running out, Mitsuki must navigate the entertainment world, facing emotional challenges, self-discovery, and a budding love. Will she be able to keep her promise before her moon fades away?
