Fruits Basket (フルーツバスケット Furūtsu Basuketto), sometimes abbreviated Furuba or Fruba (フルバ), is the reboot anime adaption of the manga of the same name by Natsuki Takaya.
The anime series was announced on November 12, 2018.[1]The series was aoverall animated by TMS Entertainment, directed by Yoshihide Ibata, series composition by Taku Kishimoto, and music composed by Masaru Yokoyama. The first season of the series premiered from April 6th, 2019 to September 21, 2019 on TV Tokyo, consisting of 25 episodes.
The second season was announced on September 19, 2019.[2] It premiered in Japan from April 7, 2020 to September 22, 2020, consisting of 25 episodes.
The third and final season titled Fruits Basket: The Final was announced on September 21, 2020.[3] It premiered in Japan from April 5, 2021 to June 29, 2021, consisting of 13 episodes.
FUNimation Entertainment has announced that the anime would be streamed on FunimationNow and have also confirmed that they have licensed home video rights. They premiered the first 2 episodes in U.S. theaters from March 26-27, 2019.[4][5][6] The first season's dub eventually premiered on Funimation's streaming service as a SimulDub on April 5, 2019. The second season's English Dub premiered the first 3 episodes in U.S. theaters from March 30-31, 2020.[7] It eventually premiered the second season's dub as a SimulDub on April 6, 2020.[8] The third and final season's English Dub premiered a few weeks before Japan's TV premiere on March 19, 2021.[9][10]
