Felidae

Felidae is a 1994 German adult animated neo-noir crime horror film directed by Michael Schaack, produced by Trickompany and written by Martin Kluger, Stefaan Schieder and Akif Pirinçci based on Pirinçci's 1989 novel of the same name. The story centers on house cat Francis and the grisly feline murders taking place in his new neighborhood.

An uncredited English version of the film was produced and was intended to be released in English-speaking regions (e.g. United Kingdom, United States, etc.) from 1995 to 1997, but the only region it saw an official release in was Australia.

Synopsis
A cat must investigate brutal murders of other cats in a neighborhood he has moved into with his owner.

Notes & Trivia

The film would receive a 4K and Standard Blu-ray release in the US in December 2024 by Deaf Crocodile Films, this release however would be sub-only due to the rights to the dub being unclear.^[2]
There is a popular misconception believing that the dub cast consists of big-name celebrity actors, such as Cary Elwes, Michael Madsen, John Hurt, Michael Ironside, George Hearn, and Christopher Plummer. However, it has been strongly speculated on BTVA forums that the dub was more likely recorded in the UK with a voice acting talent pool that is more well-known for numerous Manga Entertainment titles.
