Elfen Lied (エルフェンリート Erufen Rīto) is an anime based on the Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Lynn Okamoto. It was directed by Mamoru Kanbe, animated by Arms and produced by Genco and VAP. The series originally aired in Japan between July 25, 2004 and October 17, 2004 on AT-X. The anime began airing before the manga was complete; as a result, the plot differed between the two, especially the ending.

Elfen Lied (OVA)[]
A year after the anime broadcast, a special episode with a story that chronologically takes place between episode 10 and 11 was created separately and released on April 21, 2005 in Japan. For that reason, fans call it 'Episode 10.5'.

Notes[]
- The OVA was never originally dubbed alongside the series, never being released on ADV's original releases. It was finally dubbed by Sentai Filmworks for their Blu-Ray release. Due to the 8 year gap, some voice actors did not reprise their roles; most notably Nyu/Lucy and Kōta.
- Blake Shepard replaced Adam Conlon as Kōta, due to Conlon's retirement.
- Carli Mosier and David Wald replaced Kira Vincent-Davis and Jason Douglas as Nyu/Lucy and Bandō respectively. While the two voice actors are still active, they were unable to reprise the role for whatever reason; both likely being busy voice acting in Dallas.
