Dragon Ball GT: A Hero's Legacy, (悟空外伝! 勇気の証しは四星球 Gokū Gaiden! Yūki no Akashi wa Sūshinchū) known in Japan as Goku's Side Story! Si Xing Qiu is a Testament to Courage is a special for the anime Dragon Ball GT, and was released between episodes 40 and 41, on March 26, 1997.

Despite airing around the middle of the series, it serves as a prelude to events that take place at the very end of the last episode of the series.

Synopsis

It has been 100 years since the defeat of the Shadow Dragons, all the Z Fighters have died...except for Pan, the granddaughter of Goku. Pan has a grandchild named Goku Jr. However, he does not have the bravery of his great-great-grandfather. Pan suffers a heart attack, and Goku Jr. believes that he might be able to save her with the power of the 4 star Dragon Ball. Along with the school bully, he tries to find the ball...and unleashes his hidden bravery and power.


Dubbing History

An English dub of the special was dubbed by FUNimation and released on DVD in November of 2004.

A second English dub was made by the AB Groupe for European distribution. It aired on Toonami in the United Kingdom under the title Four-star Dragonball Is The Proof of Courage. The dub has never been released on DVD, though fan copies have made their way online around 2021.
