Digimon Data Squad, known in Japan as Digimon Savers (デジモンセイバーズ Dejimon Seibāzu) is the fifth anime series of the Digimon franchise.
Like the previous two series, the story is totally independent of the predecessor series and follows Marcus Damon.
In this installment, the protagonists do not fight against the Digimon on their own as in the other series, but are supported by an organization called Data Squad (DATS).
In DATS, humans and Digimon work in order to protect our world from threats coming from the Digital World, just as not only do children have a Digimon companion, this also includes adults unlike other series of this anime.
The dub of this series was produced by Toei's USA division, who contracted the production to Studiopolis. This was the last Digimon series to air on the Disney family of networks before Haim Saban reacquired the American rights to the franchise in 2010.
