Demon Lord 2099 is a 2024 anime series based on the light novel with the same name written by Daigo Murasaki and illustrated by Kureta. It published by Fujimi Shobo under their Fujimi Fantasia Bunko imprint on January 20, 2021. The manga version of the series was illustrated by Kiiro Akashiro, and was originally serialized and published online in Kadokawa Shoten's Shōnen Ace Plus magazine from November 5, 2021 to June 24, 2022 before being removed due to unknown reasons. The second series was illustrated by Yutaka Sakurai, and began serialization on the same website on March 22, 2023.
The anime series was announced by Aniplex at AnimeJapan on March 25, 2023.[1] It was animated by J.C.Staff, directed by Ryō Andō, series composition by Yūichirō Momose, composed by Tatsuya Kato, and it premiered in Japan on October 13, 2024. Crunchyroll licensed and produced an English Dub of the series, which premiered on their streaming service on October 26, 2024.[2][3]
Synopsis
Five centuries ago, Demon Lord Veltol reigned over an immortal nation. Now, the time has come for him to awaken once again. The year is 2099, and civilization has reached peak evolution, leading to a high-tech landscape with towering skyscrapers—nothing like he’s conquered before.
