Demon Lord, Retry! is a 2019 anime based on the light novel series with the same name written by Kurone Kanzaki and was illustrated by Kōji Ogata for the 1st Edition from June 30, 2017 to June 30, 2018, then illustrated by Makoto Iino for the 2nd edition on October 22, 2018. In October of 2017, the light novel series would receive a manga adaptation with it being illustrated by Amaru Minotake. The illustrator would continue on with the manga re-vamped under the title Demon Lord, Retry! R in 2020.
The anime series was animated by Ekachi Epilka, directed by Hiroshi Kimura, series composition by Ōka Tanisaki, composed by Satoshi Hōno, and it premiered in Japan from July 4, 2019 to September 19, 2019, consisting of 12 episodes. On August 21, 2023, it was announced that the series would receive a new season based on the Demon Lord, Retry! R manga.[1] The second season had a change of staff, animated by Gekkō, directed by Kazuomi Koga, which premiered from October 5, 2024 to December 21, 2024, consisting of 12 episodes.
Funimation Entertainment licensed and produced an English SimulDub of the series, which premiered on the FunimationNow streaming service on July 17, 2019. The second season's English Dub is produced by Crunchyroll, which premiered on their streaming service on October 12, 2024.[2][3]
