Dean Hagopian (born August 24, 1937)[1] is an Armenian-Canadian actor and voice actor.
Career[]
Dean Hagopian has many years of experience as a major market DJ/Announcer. Prior to this, Hagopian was the lead singer for "The Staccatos" in 1963 and 1964. Hagopian left the group before "Half Past Midnight" was released in 1966, but it's likely he played it on his show a few times in his career. The Staccatos went on to international fame and fortune as the Five Man Electrical Band.
He moved on to working for Montreal radio station CFOX in the mid-1960s, though the CFOX call letters are now used by a radio station in Vancouver. Hagopian began acting in Montreal in 1978, being given his first shot at it by his friend Mark Warren, director of Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In.[2]
He has voiced national radio & TV ads (GM & Ford), and many corporate reads including medical presentations. As a film and TV actor, he has accrued over 50 credits for Principal & Actor roles. He has performed multi voice characters on over 60 animations and video games; such as Mr. Monopoly for Hasbro Toys, Big Cheese in Samurai Pizza Cats, General Guph in the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Kalmec in The Mysterious Cities of Gold, Nyluus, the Announcer, and the Scottish Golf Guide in Raze's Hell, among many dubbing & post sync credits. Dean has a special love and gift for doing accents and dialects.
